In the scope of the implementation of CITES, the Mozambican Government, in partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (US FWS) and Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), prepared a strategy and an action plan for elephant conservation with a 5-year time span that prevailed from 2010 to 2015.
