The ProFin project (2012 to 2016) was conceived to implement the business oriented financial plans, maintain financial management systems efficient, improve the cost/efficiency relation in partnership approaches involving the communities and diversify and enlarge the revenues from protected areas. The project was budgeted in around 13,8 million USD. Throughout its 4-year implementation period, there were three main components:

1. Institutional Development (MITADER/ANAC).
2. Co-management models in demonstration locations (Gregory C. Carr Foundation/ Gorongosa National Park).
3. Business and revenue collecting plans (WWF).
