The celebration of the 10th anniversary of the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC)

The celebration of the 10th anniversary of the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC) this Tuesday, May 25, 2021, takes place at a time when the commemorative week of Biological Diversity is also celebrated, having been celebrated on May 22, the International Day for Biological Diversity was proclaimed by the United Nations, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park.

ANAC technicians are receiving training in conservation in South Africa

A group of 3 rangers, namely, Eduardo Daniel Ngovene, António Hilário Chemane and Eduardo Jordão Mafume, from the Limpopo National Park, in the Province of Gaza, left Maputo yesterday to the Southern Africa Wildlife College, in neighbouring South Africa, where they will attend an advanced course in nature management and conservation, for 3 years.

Mozambique and South Africa evaluate efforts in fighting poaching and biodiversity preservation

The National Conservation Areas Administration (ANAC) and its South African counterpart met this week in Maputo to evaluate the progress in the efforts the governments of both countries are undertaking to put an end to poaching, which plagues the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park.

The Minister of Land appoints new Parks and Reserves’ Wardens

The Minister of Land, Environment and Rural Development, Celso Ismael Correia, in the powers and responsibilities conferred upon him by the article 23 of the State Employees and Agents General Statute, approved by the Law 14/2009 of March 17th, discharged and appointed, through Separate Dispatches of November 16th 2016, the following National Parks and Reserves’ Wardens.

Construction works in the Quissanga – Ibo Island bridge pier begin

CITES recognizes Mozambican efforts in fighting illegal traffic of fauna and flora species

Mozambique participated, from September 23rd to October 5th 2016 in the 17th Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora Signatory Parties Conference, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Maputo Special Reserve and Zinave National Park receive animals from Gorongosa

The National Conservation Areas Administration (ANAC) initiated a translocation process of 200 waterbucks, 200 impalas and 50 warthogs from the Gorongosa National Park to the Zinave National Park, in the district of Mabote, Province of Inhambane.
